ProgDay was definitely a lot of fun - and driving. But mostly fun. Well, no. It was mostly driving - for Paul anyway. Six to eight people in a van at one time makes for a lot of navigators & pee breaks. But Paul prevailed without so much as one curse word (out loud at least)!

ProgDay itself was a great experience. And as it is likely to be the last occurrence of ProgDay - at least for a while, we are glad to have taken part in such an important event. It was obviously a tremendous amount of work for organizer/promoter Peter Renfro, who did a wonderful job keeping things on schedule and tending to the many details required to make such an event a success. The support staff was great and tended to all the details to ensure that each band could deliver their performance.

We met many enthusiastic prog fans, vendors, and musicians; heard some great music from all over the world(!), & felt like we never left Michigan by playing in 50 degree weather! Hardly a mistake-free performance we eventually warmed up, or rather reached that state just shy of frostbite where numbing cold actually feels warm, and (all joking aside) really had fun playing to a discerning and attentive audience. The chill, compounded by the even chillier breeze, certainly affected our mental states in a comical way. We found great amusement in each others' shivering and huddled postures, unusual mistakes, and droplets of snot clinging to the tips of our noses. The video(s) must be very entertaining! Thanks to Matthew Parmenter (Discipline) for braving the elements and joining us with his violin on Changing The Guard. It was the highlight of the set for us.

Once again, ProgDay was a great experience and privilege to be a part of! We have posted a pictorial of our performance below. Thanks again to Peter & the entire ProgDay staff; Pam & Denise for selling our cds; our crew; festival band mates; and above all the fans of progressive rock for their continuing support, without which bands like Tiles would only play in basements!!
